Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day gives us a good excuse to celebrate our mums and show our appreciation for everything they have done for us – but what to get her?… We’ve taken the guesswork out of Mother’s Day for you and come up with some great gift ideas to show mum you care.

DIY High Tea

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to show your mum you love her. Why not create your own ‘high tea’ at home – make a range of sandwiches (don’t forget to cut them into triangles and cut the crusts off!), and some mini biscuits, cakes or for a healthier option, fruit salads.

Give mum flowers

An oldie but a goodie, mums will rarely get flowers for themselves so a bunch of her favourites will definitely put a smile on her face. Low budget? Raid your home garden for some and tie them up with pretty ribbon accompanied by a home made card.

Take her out for a walk

Even if you usually go on walks with mum, go somewhere different for a change – a larger park across town, a riverside bushwalk, or a seaside stroll. You can have a good catchup chat and get in your exercise at the same time. Then follow it up by treating her to a coffee or frozen yoghurt.

Make a gift basket

Get an empty cane basket and fill it with some of her favourite things – beauty products, food items, accessories and pamper vouchers (you can make your own homemade vouchers for her to ‘redeem’ – manicure, shoulder massage, gardening services…). Here are some options to get you started:
